How should I care for my clear aligners?

Proper care of your clear aligners is essential for maintaining good oral hygiene and ensuring your treatment progresses as planned. We recommend following these simple yet essential care instructions.

The Basics of Clear Aligner Care

Always remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. Food particles and coloured beverages can stain your aligners and promote bacterial growth. After meals, brush your teeth thoroughly before reinserting the aligners to prevent food debris from getting trapped against your teeth.

Clean your aligners daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and warm water. You can use a small amount of clear, antibacterial soap or specialised aligner cleaning crystals. Never use toothpaste on your aligners as it's abrasive and can create scratches that harbour bacteria.

Store your aligners in their protective case when not in use to prevent loss or damage. This is particularly important during meals and sports activities. Rinse your aligners with water each time you remove them to prevent saliva from drying and creating an unpleasant taste.

Successful Treatment with Clear Aligners in Bayswater

Wear your aligners for 20-22 hours daily as prescribed by Dr Fine. Consistent wear ensures your treatment stays on track and achieves the best results. Regular dental check-ups at our Bayswater dental clinic will help monitor your progress and address any concerns you may have about your aligner care routine.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
